Finding Trustworthy Web Sites on Breast Cancer
Some of the best places to find breast cancer information that's unbiased and current are national and government web sites. With any Web site, check to see when the site was last updated. Breast cancer research is ongoing and information changes by the minute. Information that is years, months or even weeks old can easily be outdated. Beware of information that seems reliable but may have been posted by someone with a hidden agenda. A doctor's site, for example, may be biased by personal opinion about treatment. A patient's or survivor's site may be colored by experience or emotion to the point where it's not useful. Stick to widely known, unbiased sources. Confirm any information you find with what you've read elsewhere, and discuss it with your doctor.
